Meet Leadership Coach Cynthia D'Amour

Cynthia held her first leadership training session her senior year of high school. She thought she was just helping out some friends – and never dreamed it would later become a career!

The path to Leadership Coach has been filled with variety and excitement for Cynthia.

During her five years as an eighth grade teacher, Cynthia was cutting edge with her hands-on approach to learning.

As a manager for Macy's, Cynthia's relationship-based approach to clients helped her team increase sales 183% her first season.

Cynthia's thirst for knowledge is reflected in her Marketing degree from Michigan State as well as completing more than 50 hours of graduate work in learning styles, communication dynamics and more.

Cynthia began her adventure as a full time entrepreneur in 1993 – and has been teaching people how to build better relationships and be better leaders ever since.

Cynthia was named a 1998 Outstanding Young Michigander by the Michigan Junior Chamber of Commerce for her creative work and continued commitment to community involvement.

In spite of a hectic schedule that includes flying all over the country to speak at leadership conferences, Cynthia maintains her own leadership involvement.

Cynthia:

Serves on the Component Relations Section Council for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Serves as Founder and President of Marketers Making a Difference.
Serves on the Training Team of the Junior League of Ann Arbor.
And, recently graduated from Leadership Ann Arbor.

Why did Cynthia create The Chapter Leader Resource Center?

There's been a big change in working with volunteers. They demand to know "What's in it for me?" — and expect value every time they show up.

To succeed, chapter leaders must now become savvy marketers – as well as leaders.

Too many chapter leaders have burned out and walked away in frustration – when all they needed was some training in how to become better marketers.
